The technique

The painting contains various coats of paint made by mixing pigments with different mediums on an acrylic base. Once dry between coat and coat they are sand papered till former layer of paint will appear. That way the painting receives its profoundness. In general the last coat of paint is treated while still being fresh and humid using a spatula or scratching only fast with its point. That gives the movement to the painting. The final texture of the surface is formed by wiping and sand papering again when the paint becomes dry. Using patinas at the end gives the finishing to the painting and rounds the composition of the colours.


Die Technik

Die Bilder bestehen aus vielen Schichten von Farbpigmenten, die mit unterschiedlichen Malmitteln auf Acrylbasis angerührt sind und nacheinander aufgetragen werden. Nach jeder getrockneten Schicht werden durch mehr oder weniger starkes Abschleifen wieder die unteren Schichten zum Vorschein gebracht. Somit erhalten die Bilder ihre Tiefe. Die letzte Farbschicht wird meist dicker aufgetragen und im nassen Zustand bearbeitet. Dies geschieht per Spachtel oder nur durch das schnelle Ritzen mit der Spachtelspitze und bringt Bewegung ins Bild. Die endgültige Oberflächenstruktur entsteht durch weiteres Wischen und Schleifen nachdem die Farbe wieder angetrocknet ist. Zuletzt wird das Gemälde mit Patinas überzogen, die die farbliche Komposition abrunden.

Los cuadros llevan varias capas de pintura de técnicas mixtas, hechas de pigmentos mezclados con diferentes medios con base acrílica. Una vez seco entre capa y capa se lija con diferentes intensidades hasta que aparecen los fondos anteriores. Así el cuadro recibe su profundidad. La última capa de pintura tiene en general un cierto espesor y está tratada en su momento fresco y húmedo con una espátula o solamente rasguñada con la punta de la espátula que da el movimiento al cuadro. La textura final de la superficie está conseguida difuminando y lijando la última capa. La terminación del cuadro lleva pátinas, que redondean el conjunto de colores.
